Equal Justice Initiative

Race and the Jury Report

Racial bias in jury selection is an often overlooked yet critical flaw in our legal system. We worked with the Equal Justice Initiative to distill their recent report into an explainer animation encouraging audiences to dive deeper into the history of this complex issue.

Background

The Equal Justice Initiative, an organization confronting issues of mass incarceration, excessive punishment, and racial injustice in the United States, recently published a report examining the continuing legacy of institutionalized racism within the justice system, specifically in regard to illegal jury selection bias.

Artistic Approach

Together with EJI, Osmosis developed a unique visual language reflecting the existing brand identity and aspirational goals for the piece, while honoring the nuances of the subject matter. The film is featured prominently on their website and across their social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.

Let’s work together.
